He was born on October 3, 1954 in Richmond, Virginia the son of the late Charles H. Taylor and Martha L. Atkinson.
Butch worked for over 50 years as a roofer. He was well known throughout the area and it seemed that where ever he went someone recognized him and greeted him with a "is that you Butch?" Very often, after a hard day's work, he could be found at either the Birdseye Cafe or the Half Keg spending time with friends. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and loved playing horseshoes.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Charles H. Taylor IV (Bethany) and Jaime Boivin (Devin Green); grandchildren, Hannah, Cristian, Ryan, Charles V, and Brice; great grandchildren, Carter and Dakota; and his siblings, Sue Starr, Ann Barnes, and Jerry Taylor.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 28 from 3-6 pm at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Rd, Uncasville.
A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
