Charles O. Weisent, 97, passed peacefully on September, 25, 2025. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to Margaret Clara (Craft) and Oliver Christian Weisent, and he happily grew up with an older sister Mary Addie who he adored. He was a lifelong resident of the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus. Charles graduated from Immaculate Conception Grade School in 1941 and Aquinas College High School in 1945. He attended The Ohio State University and was a huge Buckeye fan his entire life even serving as a red coat volunteer at Ohio Stadium for 25 years. Charles was a devout parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church for 70 years. He served his country in the US Army as a tank commander during the Korean Conflict. Charles was a retired hairdresser operating his Summit Lane Beauty Salon for nearly 40 years. He was also retired from managing his rental properties. "Charlie" was one of the founders of Champions Tennis Club, Columbus; he was an avid tennis player for nearly 80 years. He was so proud of his German heritage and tried to make an annual trip to Fulda, Ohio as often as he could to see his cousins and attend St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Festival there. In 1953, Charles married his love Janet O'Neil and they joyfully raised three children. Janet passed in 2014 after 61 years together. They were the perfect partners and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, volunteering, and traveling. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents (all settlers of Fulda, Ohio) Mary and Edward Craft, and Addie and Alexander Weisent, his sister Mary (Bud) Balser, his brothers-in-law Bob (Betty) O'Neil and Jack (Catherine) O'Neil, his sister-in-law Claire O'Neil, his nephew Dan and nieces Linda and Mary. Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Joy (Mike), Judy, Chip (Holly), his four grandchildren: Abbey (Bill), Jenna (John), Connor (Jodi), Tyler (Donna), his six great-grandchildren: Autumn, Nora, Will and Lucy, Caroline and Clara, his brother-in-law William J. O'Neil, his nieces Alice, Jill, Tricia, his nephews Joe, Bob, Bill. Charles' life was made complete by the kindnesses of his neighbors Carmen, Greg, and MaryJo, his tennis buddies and their spouses at Champions, his friends at OhioHealth Neuroscience Wellness Center, Home Helpers, and the dear Oakley family.

Thank you to the doctors whose care kept Charles healthy during his senior years: Dr. Steven Dusseau, Dr. Lindsay Castle, Dr. Jeffrey Harbrecht, and Dr. Jeffery Bixler.

Thank you to our Homereach Hospice team who thoughtfully worked to keep Charles comfortable the last week of his life.

Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 East Dominion Blvd where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. A private family burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Charles with memorial contributions to Our Lady of Peace School, 40 E. Dominion Blvd, Columbus, OH 43214.
