Mr. Charles Ray "Charlie Joe" Williams, age 66, of Lewisburg, TN, was called home on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 5:50 AM at The University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Funeral services will be held the same day, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM. After funeral services, Mr. Williams's wishes are to be cremated.
Charles was born on January 28, 1959 in Gordon Hospital in Lewisburg, TN to the late James Andrew Williams and the late Mary Frances (Hill) Williams. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ann, Eva Kay, and Janice Marie; his nephews, Gary Jr., Randy and Donnie Jr.; and a few grandbabies.
He is survived by three children, Steven Ray Williams (Kim) of Columbia, TN, Alecia Dawn Jones (Bud) of Lewisburg, TN and Lorinda Lasha Williams-Pickering (Dustin) of Franklin, KY; nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn Faith (Dallas), Kain Lee, Kase Wayne, Chesnea, Bryliegh, Charlie Joe, Kinsley Raine, Allee Mai and James Donald; two great-grandchildren, Huntlee Wayne and Haselyn Faith; a brother, Jimmy Williams of Marshall County, TN; five nieces & nephews, Andy, Jamie, Larry Ray, Marcia Ann and Jenny Kay; and his former wife, Patty Lee of Franklin, KY.
Charles was a jack of all trades but he was a painter most of his life. He loved fast cars winding back roads. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved and he always wanted the sun upon his face, rock & roll in his ears and water between his toes. People called him Charlie Joe Jew because he could talk himself into a good deal almost always. He was a wild spirit and never tamed; life of any party and loud and proud. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, attn: Marie Pitts, 1006 Seng Ave., Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
