Mrs. Charlotte, a cherished educator, lifelong learner, and friend to all, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2025, at her home. Born on December 16, 1944, in Alexander City to Douglas Charles Niblett and Forrest Bishop Niblett, Charlotte's vibrant spirit and boundless enthusiasm for knowledge and companionship blossomed early and influenced all who had the pleasure of knowing her throughout her incredible 80 years. A proud 1963 graduate of Benjamin Russell High School, Charlotte's passion for education propelled her to pursue further studies at Auburn University, where in 1966 she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education. This was only the beginning of her lifelong commitment to inspiring young minds. Without delay, Charlotte immersed herself in the educational fabric of Alexander City, taking great joy in her role as a teacher in the local school system. Her dedication to her students and her craft was unmistakable and radiated throughout the classrooms she led. Ever the proponent of continuous learning, Charlotte returned to academia to achieve her Master's Degree in Education. With this accomplishment, she extended her influence and expertise further, eventually retiring from primary and secondary education in 2005. However, retirement couldn't contain her zeal for teaching. Charlotte then embarked on a new chapter at Central Alabama Community College, sharing her wisdom, experience, and contagious enthusiasm with an older, yet equally eager student body. Beyond the halls of academia, Charlotte was a beacon of sociability, living by the creed that no one was a stranger, just a friend yet to be met. She could often be found engaging in lively conversations with individuals from all walks of life, bestowing her warmth and wisdom on anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her love for the shore was no secret, as many of her happiest moments were spent basking in the sun, enveloped in the laughter and joy of her family at the beach. Charlotte also harbored a deep affection for literature, and her legacy includes the countless worlds and stories she opened up for her loved ones, instilling in them her cherished value of reading. An animal lover at heart, Charlotte's compassion knew no bounds, extending to all of Earth's creatures. Her nurturing presence was a haven not only for her loved ones but also for the many animals she cared for over the years. Her most cherished memories were spent with her grandson, whom she loved dearly. While she had many roles in her life, her role as Nonnie was her favorite. He was the light of her life and she loved every moment spent with both him and the rest of her family. Charlotte Coker's remarkable journey through life has left an indelible mark on her community and the many hearts she touched. She will be dearly missed, forever remembered, and always celebrated for the extraordinary woman she was-a teacher, encourager, and a cherished friend to all she knew. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Coker (Brian) Fielders of Alexander City; grandchild, William Jason Head; bonus grandchild, Jax Fielders; nieces, Libby (Mike) Welcher, Lori Partridge, Kim Coker, and Andrea Coker (Dave) Logan; nephews, Wayne (Tammy) Coker, Walt (Elisabeth) Gilmer, and Wade Gilmer; cousins, Laine Mathis and Stephanie (Phillip) Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William "Bill" Coker; and sister, Ronnie Partridge.
