Mr. Kenneth Leslie "Kenny" McGill

Funeral Service for Mr. Kenneth Leslie "Kenny" McGill, 77, of Opelika, will be Monday, July 28, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home. Mr. McGill was born in Alexander City, on August 13, 1947 in Alexander City, Alabama to Douglas and Alma McGill. He passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Bethany House. He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 43 years, Mary "Kitty" McGill and his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie McGill Voss (Wesley) of Opelika and Amanda Richardson of Alexander City; his grandchildren, Emma Voss of Opelika and Brooke Whatley (Brady) of Alexander City, great-grandchild, Everlie Whatley; sister, Diana Milam (Rickey); and brother, Mike McGill (Cindy). Mr. McGill graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1965 and Auburn University in 1969 with a degree in Textile Management. He spent over 40 years managing textile plants. Not long after graduating from college, Mr. McGill enlisted in the Army National Guard and proudly served with them for many years. Mr. McGill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family deeply and devoted his time to them. Mr. McGill was a religious man and studied the Bible all his life. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn, AL and served in several capacities at the church. Mr. McGill led a full life. In his younger days he played sports. He also enjoyed cheering on his Auburn Tigers and Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed quail and dove shooting. He played industrial softball until he was 40 years old. He spent his vacations in Florida. He enjoyed playing golf. He was a lover of the game of Rook. Above all, Mr. McGill was a Christian man. He deeply believed in the Bible and believed everything in it is true. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and prayed religiously. He was a man of great faith. He believed that he was saved by the grace of God. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Spencer Cancer Center in Opelika for their compassionate care of Mr. McGill during his time there.
