Charlotte Edwards, 81, of Iron Mountain passed away peacefully on June 1, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI with her daughter, Lisa, at her bedside. We extend our gratitude to the friends, family, and healthcare workers who helped care for her during her courageous battle with heart failure and pneumonia. She was also the grateful recipient of a liver transplant nearly 20 years ago.
Charlotte was born on Sept. 10, 1941, in Oakland, MI, to Charles F. and Anna M. (Anderson) Richards. In 1959, she graduated from Kingsford High School. On April 20, 1968, she was married to Neil G. Edwards. Many may remember Charlotte from her years working at The Drug Store in Iron Mountain, or her amazing story telling ability, or maybe from seeing her at her favorite country music festival she attended annually for years, Porterfield. Charlotte was also her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader, ringing the cattle bell at all of their games, especially hockey. She also loved her dogs dearly. Charlotte brought love and life to every holiday and special occasion. Christmas was always made special with her love of the holiday with decorations, crazy hats that sing and dance, and an over abundance of gifts for her loved ones. She made every day brighter with her inner light.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Sarder; grandsons, Brad (Megan) Sarder and Corey (Laura) Sarder; 4 great-grandchildren, Emmett, Miles, Caleb, and Stella Sarder; 2 aunts, Betsie Benzie and Karen Peronto; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil G. Edwards, and her mother, Anna Mae Richards.
Visitation will be at Lisa Sarder's home, 704 W. Hughitt St., from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
Her light will continue to shine bright by her surviving loved ones.
