Dr. Charlotte Ann Gore was born August 12, 1963, in Biloxi, MS, to Lee and Eula Abram. She graduated from Gulfport High School in the Class of 1982. Her passion for learning and helping others led her to pursue higher education, earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees from William Carey University. In 2017, she achieved her doctoral degree in philosophy from the University of Southern Mississippi, where her dissertation, "An Analysis of ED Nurse Opinions of Their ED Nurse Manager Leadership Characteristics and Outcomes," showcased her commitment to improving nursing leadership and patient care. Nursing was more than a profession for Charlotte; it was her calling. She served as a professor in the nursing department at the University of Southern Mississippi, mentoring and inspiring future nurses. Additionally, she published pamphlets designed to help aspiring nurses succeed in their studies and pass their licensing exams.
Charlotte's dedication to service extended beyond academia. She served her country honorably in the United States Air Force, where she received her initial training in the medical field. Her time in the military further solidified her passion for healthcare and service.
A woman of deep faith, Charlotte was an active and devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She found great joy in teaching Sunday School and serving as a mission teacher. Her leadership and dedication extended to the digital realm as well, where she played a key role in designing the church's website. She also spearheaded the church's health fair, ensuring the well-being of her church and her community.
Dr. Charlotte Gore passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, service, and compassion, Friday, March 21, 2025 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 61.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Abram, her mother, Eula Viola Abram, her uncle, Horace Martin and many other aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her brother: Lee Abram of Jacksonville, FL; aunts: Sarah (Harold) Elam and Elnora Martin; uncle: Bill (Linda) Martin; cousins, Emma Abram (Charles) Mitchell, Roland (Lizette) Abram, Essie Hunter and Sylvia Abraham; and host of other relatives and good friends.
Charlotte's life was one of unwavering dedication-to her students, her faith, her country, and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
