Charlotte L. Scali passed away on July 30, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital at the age of 78.
Born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Isaac and Lucille Javens Veon.
Charlotte graduated from Beaver Local High School. Early in her career, she was a driver/dispatcher for Independent Taxi, before being a valued employee at Nodays Deli and Suburban Market.
An avid bowler, Charlotte looked forward to her Wednesday morning league, where she built friendships that enriched her life. She found joy in the thrill of BINGO and the excitement of the casino. Above all, Charlotte cherished her family, especially the treasured moments spent with her sister in Seattle.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Michael (Teresa) Hixson of Salem; her daughter, Dawn Rotunno of McDonald; her sister, Evelyn Gower of Tacoma, WA; seven grandchildren, Amber (Samantha) Meese, Kaitlynn (Dann Robinson) Whited, Jenna Whited, Kortnie Bolevich, Kaylie Bolevich, Michael Hixson Jr. and Bobby German; and numerous great grandchildren, with two on the way.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Russell Hixson Jr.; and siblings, Nancy, Alta, Hazel, Don, David, Isaac, Tom and Clarence.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services for Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
Professional arrangements are being handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Salem Chapel.
