Charlotte P. Schmidt

Charlotte P. Schmidt, of North Brunswick passed away on Saturday, January 31st at home. She was 96.

Born in Highland Park, she lived most of her life in North Brunswick.

She worked as a Secretary for Bristol Myers Squibb in North Brunswick for 15 years before retiring in 1970.

Charlotte was a member of the North Brunswick Senior Citizens and the Ladies Auxiliary of the North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company #3. She was also a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church, New Brunswick. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, singing, watching old movies, boating, fishing, swimming, and with her husband, flying their private airplanes and Cessna. Together, they were known as 'Flying Jack' and 'Navigator Charlotte'. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones.

Her husband, John G. Schmidt, Jr. died in 2008. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Daniel Kehoe in 2010; and son, John G. Schmidt, III in 2025. Charlotte was also the last survivor of her four siblings.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Edward & Nicole Schmidt of North Brunswick, and Paul & Laura Schmidt of Middletown; daughter, Patricia Schmidt-Kehoe of Goshen, New York; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd from 4 to 8 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home of North Brunswick, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4th, 10 AM at the funeral home with an 11 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
