Cheri Rene Ericksen of Centerville, UT, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2025, surrounded by her family in memory care at Legacy in Farmington, UT.

Cheri was born on April 29, 1951, in Payson, Utah, to Lester and Renee Thomas. She grew up in Bountiful as the older sister to her two brothers, Brent and Bart. Her childhood was filled with family trips to national parks, cattle drives on her grandparents' farm, and riding her favorite horse, Star, as well as her brother’s motorcycles with friends. Cheri graduated from Viewmont High School, where she met her sweetheart, Michael Ericksen. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 23, 1972. Together, they raised four children and enjoyed the joy of 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Cheri was a loving mother who made homemade dinners, baked pies, and crafts at church, all while keeping an exceptionally clean home. Holidays held a special place in her heart; she dressed as a witch every Halloween for the trick-or-treaters and made it a tradition to host Christmas Eve dinner with her family. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cheri held many callings in Primary, Young Women’s, and ward and stake Relief Society. She loved the gospel and was dedicated to serving and helping those around her. An avid reader, she could often be found with a book or reading the newspaper every morning. Cheri also loved to travel, having explored many parts of the world, with Tibet, Antarctica, China, Australia, and the Baltics among her favorites.

Cheri is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael Ericksen; her children, Amy (Brian) Yamasaki, Jennifer (Gary) Arnell, Shaunee (Brandon) Lamb, and Luke (Malissa) Ericksen; and her 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Renee and Lester Thomas, and her brother, Bart Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Centerville 20th Ward, 210 East 1825 North, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and Thursday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
