Cheri Louise Pardue Flanagan, age 78, of Cornelia, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Mrs. Flanagan was born on March 15, 1947, to the late Winford and Eva Pardue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Flanagan and daughter, Stacy Bennett.
She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures — watching her favorite game shows, cooking shows, and the Discovery, National Geographic, and Hallmark channels. Cheri had a deep love for animals and always had a special place in her heart for her pets. In her younger years, she enjoyed crafts and creating things with her hands. In more recent years, she took comfort in quiet moments, often spending time playing solitaire and especially enjoying the hummingbirds and flowers that brightened her days. Above all, Cheri cherished time spent with family. Her warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit made every family gathering more special, and she will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to share in her life.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee Burton and Rachel Flanagan; grandchildren: Alicia Burton, Brandan Burton, Kayla Butcher, Jordon Flanagan, Louie Wood, Cody Bennett, Carlie Bennett; and great-grandchildren: Aelin Flanagan, Raelynn Burton, Hunter Moore, Shaylee Moore, Bryson Moore, Oakleigh Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the funeral home and from 12:00 pm until the service hour on Wednesday.
