Cheryl R Camps

Cheryl R. Camps, 78 of Marinette passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at home. She was born on April 9, 1947, to the late Albert and Rose (Betz) Lemmens in Milwaukee. She graduated from Muskego High School in 1965 and the WI College of Cosmetology in 1966. She had worked in the Milwaukee area until moving to the Marinette area in 1978. On April 21, 1979, Cheryl married Jerome "Jerry" Camps at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee; he preceded her in death on November 24, 2020. She worked at Twin City Insurance and then the Hair Affair. Later owning and operating Uni-Corner Styling Salon from 1984 until retirement in 2011. She had taught at Paul Mitchell in Peshtigo, WI School of Cosmetology and Martin School of Hair Design in Green Bay. Cheryl was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed helping others as part of the Grief Support Group, and loved to spend time with her family and traveling.
Cheryl is survived by sons, Cory (Debra) Camps of Oconto and Jeremy (Brianna) Camps of Peshtigo; daughter Lori (Tony) Dura of Marinette; grandchildren: Teague, Mason, Ty, Kiara, Alyssa, Layla, Eli, Jereson; great grand grandchildren, Henley and Crue. In addition to her parents and husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at Emmanuel Lutheran Church from 10am until time of service at Noon. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
