Cheryl Kay Hollan, 64, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. Born on September 6, 1960, in Branson, Missouri, Cheryl was the cherished daughter of the late Lawrence "Buck" Watkins and Stella Ann Hatton.
Cheryl's journey was marked by dedication and hard work, as she retired from a fulfilling 21-year career at Morgan Foods. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her faith, as she was a steadfast member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She also was an avid "Yardsaler".
Family was the cornerstone of Cheryl's life, and she was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, where she was known as "Mamaw Rascal" by the grandkids, who she loved more than anything. She is survived by her loving sons, Bub (Tamela) Hollan of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Charlie (Brittany) Hollan of Austin, Indiana. Her siblings, Bucky Watkins, Bobbi Jo Hensley, and Mary Lively, will hold dear the memories of their sister's unwavering support and love. Cheryl's joy was multiplied through her grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Christopher) Campbell, Elijah Hollan, Makaila Hollan, Emma Hollan, Gabriel Hollan, Charlie Hollan, Waylan Hollan, and Freya Hollan and she was blessed to know her great-grandson, Silas Campbell. Each of them will carry forward her spirit of generosity and compassion.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents, were her siblings Ethel Waldon and David Watkins.
The community is invited to honor Cheryl's life at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, with Rev. Kenneth Hollan officiating. Friends and loved ones can gather to share memories and support one another during visitation hours from 4 to 8 pm on Monday and after 9 am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Cheryl's final resting place will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Austin, Indiana, where she will be laid to rest among the rolling hills that she so dearly loved.
