Cheryl Dianne (Wells) Moore, 64, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma was born June 17, 1960, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Clyde and Kathryn (Nakvinda) Wells and passed away on March 20, 2025, in Fort Gibson. Cheryl moved many different places in her early adult years, including Boise City, Oklahoma for four years and Watonga, Oklahoma for five years, before settling in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma for the last 30 plus years. She had a passion for helping others and a servant's heart, which led to her career as a case manager for Green Country Behavioral Health in their crisis unit. She retired from this position on February 3, 2020. Cheryl met and married the love of her life, Terry Moore, on November 7, 1981. This marriage stood the test of time for 43 years, 4 months, and 13 days until her passing. Terry was her best friend, making many memories over the years and enjoying their time together. Her favorite thing to do was hang out with, or bother, her husband. Cheryl loved the outdoors. She loved to take the boat out on a pretty summer day and loved a good adrenaline rush taking the Jeep rock climbing. Cheryl loved her family fiercely, and enjoyed any moment she could spend with them, making sure to never miss a family get-together. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time, a hobby that she found peace in and that relaxed her. Cheryl was an avid member of First Baptist Church in Fort Gibson, enjoying worship and fellowship with her family and friends. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, selflessness, and unconditional love. She will be missed by all.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her dad, Clyde Wells; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Wanda Moore; and brother-in-law, David Sheffield.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Terry Moore of Fort Gibson, OK; her daughters, Deborah Criner and husband Adam of Fort Gibson, OK and Terri Shannon and husband Eric of Fort Gibson; her sisters, Nancy Sheffield of Fort Gibson, OK and Teresa Jackson and husband Shawn of Fort Gibson, OK; her mother, Kathryn Wells of Muskogee, OK; her grandchildren, Eric Shannon, Jr., Quade Shannon, Braden Criner, Jacen Criner, and Emily Criner, all of Fort Gibson, OK; her nieces, Erica Walkingstick of Muskogee, OK, Kathryn Jackson of Muskogee, OK, Heather Boston of Muskogee, OK, Jessica Wilcox of Muskogee, OK; and her nephew, Brian Sheffield of Fort Gibson, OK; extended family, and many friends.
