Cheryl M. Murray

Cheryl M. Murray, 68, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, after a short illness with her family by her side. She was born in Whitinsville in 1956, the daughter of the late Russell and Mae (Murray) Hadley.

She was a beloved wife to her husband, Michael McCain, and a nurturing mother to her children, Jonathan Burnham, Jr. and his wife Christina of East Longmeadow, and Victoria Gallagher and her husband Neil of Uxbridge. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Jennifer Knighton of Oregon; a sister, Roberta Staples and her husband Dan of Douglas and nieces and nephews. Cheryl's love extended to her grandchildren, Nicole, Alexis, Mia, and Samantha, who were the light of her life, along with her grand pup Dutton, who brought her immeasurable joy.

A graduate of the former Worcester Technical Institute nursing program, Cheryl devoted over three decades to caring for others as a licensed practical nurse. Her gentle touch and warm smile were a comfort to countless individuals and their families during their times of need. Cheryl's professional life was not just a career; it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and dedication.

Cheryl's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She found solace in the strings of her guitar and the laughter of her family. Traveling was a source of wonder for her, with camping trips to Maine being among her most treasured escapes. She had an affinity for the beauty of storms, finding awe in the power of nature. Walks, whether taken in solitude or with loved ones, were cherished moments for reflection and appreciation of the world around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11 AM in Cornerstone Church, 5 East Hartford Ave., Uxbridge. A luncheon will follow.

There are no public visiting hours.
