Roger Lyman Fuller, 93, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and decorated veteran, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 93 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born on February 23, 1932, in Springfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Roger and Edith (Webb) Fuller. Roger's life was a testament to his resilience, intellect, and unwavering commitment to his family and country.
Roger's early years in Springfield laid the foundation for a life of dedication and service. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army at the tender age of 17. His bravery and valor were evident during his deployment to Korea, where he received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained from shrapnel and a gunshot wound. Following his commendable service in Korea, Roger continued to serve his country in Germany, where he further honed his leadership skills.
Upon returning to civilian life, Roger embarked on a distinguished career as an Electrical Engineer. His work at Raytheon and various high-tech companies revolutionized radar systems for transportation and the military. Roger's brilliance was recognized through several patents, which were a testament to his innovative spirit and superior math skills.
Roger's personal life was just as fulfilling as his professional one. He married his beloved wife, Joan (Dollar) Fuller, and together they shared 67 years of love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Their union was blessed with four children, William Fuller (Pamela) of Stow, MA, Kenneth Fuller (Michelle) of Stow, MA, Douglas Fuller of Stow, MA., and Linda Porter (Gary) of
Milford, MA. Roger's legacy extended to his cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, Ryan, Andrea, Samuel, Julie-Pippert-Funaro, and Stacy Pipper-Sawyer, He held a special place in his heart for his late grandson, Brian Fuller.
Roger's love for his family was paralleled only by his passion for sports. As a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, he enjoyed sharing his love of the game with his children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of teamwork and perseverance. After raising their family in various Massachusetts towns, Roger and Joan settled into a serene life in Newport, Rhode Island. It was there that Roger's wisdom, humor, and stories enriched the lives of all who knew him. His influence extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of neighbors and friends alike.
Roger's journey through life was marked by courage, ingenuity, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, who will continue to honor his legacy by embodying the virtues he exemplified throughout his remarkable life.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 am at the BUMA-SARGEANT Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home.
Burial will Follow at Vernon Grove Cemetery, Milford.
