She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Lee Williams; in-laws Charlie Floyd and Alice Owen; and brother Charles Williams Jr.; aunts Minnie Lou Floyd and Martha Jean Talmidge.
She was truly one of the sweetest souls you could ever meet. Her love story began at Wellborn High School, where she caught the eye of her future husband across the gymnasium floor. Three years later, they married - he was 19, she was 17, and he always said it was love at first sight. Just ten months later, they welcomed their first child, Charlie Ferrell Owen. Four years later, their daughter Gina completed their loving family. Together they shared 62 and a half years of marriage.
A devoted wife and mother, she spent over 40 years as a dedicated homemaker while her husband worked at Monsanto. Her life was centered around faith and family. She served her church faithfully as secretary, Sunday school teacher, and served women's ministries, and she was always ready to lend a hand with Vacation Bible School.
She supported her children wholeheartedly throughout their lives, always making sure a warm meal was waiting when they came home. Her many talents included painting, especially landscapes, crocheting, and cooking. She took great joy in preparing meals for her loved ones. She also enjoyed traveling, particularly RV camping, and was an active member of several camping clubs.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the men from Sovereign Grace Church.
