Cheryl A. Smith, 80, of Artemas, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

She was born in Everett, Pennsylvania, on May 31, 1944, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Messersmith).

On June 30, 1960, she married Guy M. Smith, in McConnellsburg, PA.

Cheryl is survived by four children, Pamela Kunkle (Scott), Jonas "Buck" Smith (Kitten), Paula Francis (Paul-dec.), and Penelope Messersmith (Wayne); a sister, Dorothy Wible; 13 grandchildren, Wesley, Jeremy, Jennifer, Gunner, Bekki, Karen, Josh, Avery, Jacob, Kim, David, Travis, and Kari; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband Guy, Cheryl was preceded in passing by a sister, Diane Kriner; three brothers, Dwayne, James, and William Bloom; a grandson, Andrew Francis; and a son-in-law, Paul Francis.

Cheryl worked as a homemaker, raising four children. She was an advanced seamstress, sewing for others to earn extra income. When all her children got into high school, she went to work at London Fog in Hancock until it closed. In her retirement years she enjoyed working at the Dollar General in Everett finishing her work career.

She was proud to work and achieve her GED when she was 50 years old. In that same year she got her driver's license. Cheryl's passions in life were traveling and meeting new people. She was a part of the Everett, Chaneysville, and Warfordsburg Senior Centers, participated in the Young at Heart Games, and treasured her Red Hat Society gatherings. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family.
