Cheryl Lynn Smith, age 69, a resident of Two Rivers, entered eternal life with family by her side on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc.
Cheryl was born on June 9, 1956 in New London to the late Harold and Linda (Romberg) Hidde. After graduating from Fox Valley Lutheran High School with the class of 1974, Cheryl attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN from where she received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. On December 27, 1980, Cheryl married Roger Smith in Durand, MI. She had touched many lives of people in our community through her work at The Head Start Program. Cheryl was most recently employed as a Housing Advocate with Lakeshore CAP. She was very proud of her work, but above all, loved working with all the children. Cheryl was an avid bird watcher and reader. She was a loving grandmother and attended many of her grandchildren's sporting events. Cheryl was a very uplifting person and had a great time hosting many family get togethers. She enjoyed gardening and grew some amazing tulips. Cheryl was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and recruited some of her family to church.
Survivors include Cheryl's husband of 44 years, Roger; two children, Ashley (Nick) Berry and Kyle Smith, all of Two Rivers; daughter-in-law, Crystal Gadzinski, and her significant other, Timothy Eskra; eight grandchildren, Joshua Gadzinski – Smith, Trevor Smith, Skyler Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Chloe Smith, Bria Berry, Sophia Berry, and Jax Berry; great granddaughter, Annabelle Moon Smith; sister, Connie (Peter) Van Dam; brother, Scott (Carolyn) Hidde; also other relatives and friends. Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, Joshua; and two brothers, Steven and Todd Hidde.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Rev. Caleb Davisson will officiate with burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers. The family will greet relatives and friends at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
