Cheryl F. Whitmarsh, 76, of Columbia passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Cheryl was born on September 30, 1947, in St. Charles, Missouri to the late James P. "Bugs" Acton and Martha "Agnes" Acton. She lived most all of her life in Columbia, Missouri. She was a graduate of Hickman High School in 1965.
Cheryl started working at the Boone County Circuit Clerk's office in 1980 and was elected the Boone County Circuit Clerk in 1991 where she remained until retirement in 2006. She attended a program through the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management where she completed the Court Executive Development Program and was designated a Fellow of the Institute for Court Management in 2001. She was very proud of this accomplishment and was admired and loved by all those who worked with her.
She brought lots of laughter and love to all those who knew her, but especially her family. She was one of four sisters and was definitely the "funny sister". She could bring light and laughter to any room she was in. She was a proud Wife, Mom, Sister, Nana and Granny to her loved ones.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 34 years, Darrell Whitmarsh of Columbia. Her Daughter, Dawn (Tommy) Jones of Blue Springs, MO, Step Daughter Lissa (John) Corley of Niceville, FL, her Step Son Mark (Sheila) Whitmarsh of Mullins, SC. Her Grandchildren, Adam (Chyann) Fraizer of Centralia, MO, Blake Kemper of Columbia, MO, Ashlee Fraizer of Columbia, MO, Brooke Kemper of Phoenix, AZ, Jessica (Josh) Miller of Niceville, FL, Lauren (Brandon) Caroon of Gainesville, FL, Matthew and Benjamin Whitmarsh of Boston, MA. She was especially fond of her great grandchildren, Daxton Woods and Lincoln Fraizer and Jameson Fraizer. Her sisters, Carolyn Basnett of Columbia, MO, Dee (Mike) Riffel of Moberly, MO, Vee (Randy)Boehm of Columbia, MO, her very special niece who was such a blessing to her, Rhonda Hafner, and last but not least her very best friend and partner in crime Linda Dolliver of Columbia, MO. And many other family members who were all so special to her. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Daniel Kemper.
Visitation will be at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 20th, from 1:00-3:00 pm with a Celebration of Life following at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave., Columbia, MO 65202.
