Larry E. Bishop, 77, of rural Hallsville passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Grandview Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the Grandview Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop was born July 5, 1948, in Mexico, Missouri, a son of the late John W. and Eathel (Leverett) Bishop. He was a 1966 graduate of Wellsville Middletown High School and a 1970 graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Agriculture Economics. On June 12, 1971, he married Betty K. Logan at Middletown Baptist Church, and they were married for 54 years. Larry served his country for 7 years in the National Guard. Larry was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, Church Treasurer and Deacon for 30 years. Larry was the owner of Bishop and Associates in Columbia until his retirement in 2019. He enjoyed trail riding for 20 years on Missouri Fox trotters with his wife and enjoyed fishing, farming, and working on antique tractors with his sons.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by two sons, Timothy Wayne (Kathy) Bishop and Nicholas Logan Bishop; two grandchildren, Logan and Leyton; two sisters, Sharon Davis and Kathy (Mike) Larsen.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Harry preceded him in death.
