Chevron Amir Alston

Chevron Amir Alston was born on November 26, 1973, at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to the late Jeffrey Lynn and Kathy Rose Alston. He peacefully departed this life on December 22, 2025.

Chevron was raised in Chicago Heights and Park Forest, Illinois, where he attended Rich East and Rich Central High Schools. He proudly earned his high school diploma from Rich East High School in 1991.

At a young age, Chevron confessed his love for the Lord and accepted Christ at St. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois, establishing a spiritual foundation that guided him throughout his life.

Chevron honorably served his country, first joining the Army Reserve and later enlisting in the United States Army. During his military career, he became a full-time medic and faithfully served for nine years. His passion for helping others led him to further his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing . Never one to stop learning, Chevron later earned a degree in Finance from Columbia College in Columbia MO.

On September 27, 1994, Chevron married the love of his life, Latonya Johnson. Through this union, he became a devoted father to Quinton and Quincy Johnson, and the couple later welcomed a son, Demetre Alston. Family was the center of Chevron's life, and he took great pride in being a loving husband and father.

Chevron had a deep love for music and the arts. A gifted self-taught musician, he learned to play the guitar and piano. He played in the high school band and, in later years, was a proud member of the Joe Lewis Band, performing at various venues. His creativity extended beyond music to include modeling, acting in plays, cooking, and baking.

Chevron was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffrey Lynn and Kathy Rose Alston.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Latonya Alston; his children, Quinton and wife Kayla Alston, Quincy Alston, Demetre Alston, and his sister, Jennie Alston-Szymanski and her husband Michael; and his stepmother Marguerite Alston, sister Jessica Alston, and brother Michael and wife Alexis Alston, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Chevron Amir Alston will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to service, love for his family, and his many talents. His life was a blessing, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
