A time of celebrating and remembering the life of Cheyann Rose Maggard will be in the chapel at DeLozier Funeral Service on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 1-3. Cheyann passed away in Chelsea on Friday, April 25, 2025. She was 21.
Born in Claremore, OK on January 13, 2004, to Joseph Maggard and Sammy Petersen. Cheyann was raised and educated in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School.
Unlike any other 21-year-old, Cheyann liked to just hang with her friends and boyfriend. She enjoyed music and could often be found listening to alternative rock on her cell phone. Cheyann had a heart for animals, especially cats. Talented as an artist, it was a gift that was discovered when Cheyann was in second grade. She was asked to do a self-portrait sketch of herself, and everyone was amazed at how well she did. It was this talent that Cheyann was using to design tattoos for friends and family. Her mother proudly has one of the very last ones Cheyann did.
A young lady whose life was cut short in a tragic manner, has left a legacy that will live on in the lives of her family and friends. Cheyann is survived by her parents, Joe Maggard and Sammy Petersen, brother, Charles Maggard, sister, Chasity Maggard, grandparents, Jeffrey and Sheryl Petersen, great grandmother, Marion Thompson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. Cheyann was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rosemary and Ben Killion, and Bill Maggard, great grandparents, Irene and Ellis Maggard, and Charles Thompson.
