Chris Robert Butler, age 58, Menahga, MN. passed away on October10,2024. Chris was born at Chisago City Hospital on April 19, 1966. Lived in North Branch until moving with his family to Nevis MN.in 1971.
In the Fall of 1979 Chris had a hunting accident. Doctors said he would never walk again. With his strong will and many months of hard work, he proved the doctor's wrong. The Nevis school dedicated a yearbook to him. He graduated in 1984. After high school he graduated from Wadena Tech for auto body and small mechanic. In 1988 he met the love of his life Gloria. They married in 1998. They had 2 kids, Christina, and Brandon. In 1997 he started working for Team Industries in Park Rapids as a machine operator and then machine maintenance.
Chris loved to fish, hunt, golf, watch the WILD Hockey games and most of all be with his family. Chris was the Master griller at family events, home, and work. He was very kindhearted and helped anyone who asked. He loved his wife and kids wholeheartedly along with all of the family.
Chris is survived by his wife, Gloria; his children Christina(Herley) Abbott, Brandon Butler all of Menahga; his siblings Rick(Gale) Butler of Des Moines, IA. Sherry(Art) Edwards of Lake George, MN., Todd(Michelle) Butler of Des Moines, IA., Ralan(Tina) Nelson of Perry, IA., Melissa(Daren) Hendrickson of Monticello, MN., Sara Nelson of Park Rapids, MN., Step-dad Allen Ohlgren of Menahga, MN., Mother-in-law Lela Glander of Park Rapids, Father-in-law Clarence Glander of Park Rapids, Sister-in-law Karen(Orvie) Wake of Pasco, WA., Brother-in-laws Perry(Sarah) Bennor of Grand Rapids, MI., and Paul Bennor of Nevis, MN., as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Ohlgren in 2017, infant brother in 1961, sister-in-law Mary in 2024, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
