Christina Jane (Kimball) Iosue passed away October 27th in Lititz, Pennsylvania at 87 years old. She grew up in Littleton, Massachusetts, the second of George and Laura Kimball’s 7 children. Teena was married to Robert (Bob) Iosue for 66 years and the mother of Rob, Mary Jane, and Felicia. In 1976, she and the family moved from Long Island to York, where she served as the First Lady of York College for 15 years. In that capacity she entertained dignitaries from all walks of life at the President’s home on Springettsbury Avenue: musicians such as Mary Travers, Wynton Marsalis, Doc Severson, and Buddy Rich, as well as national figures: the Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger and President Gerald Ford. While she loved doing this, her favorite guests were the college students. At the start of every year she hosted a Freshmen Orientation welcome party and during the year had numerous events at the house for the Students. Together, she and Bob completed the transformation of York College from a 2 year community school into a 4 year affordable private College serving the York Community and beyond.
Teena had a big heart, and in addition to her family and York College, she loved Asbury United Methodist Church. She taught adult bible study, was on the council, and was involved in many of their outreach programs. She was also a board member of Lancaster Theological Seminary and the York ARC.
Teena loved playing Tennis and Golf, as well as gardening and weekly bridge. She especially enjoyed opening her home and heart to members of the York Community.
She is survived by Bob, her 3 children and their spouses: Rob Iosue II (Ruth) Mary Jane Willett (Butch) and Felicia Iosue, and her seven grandchildren: Jack Iosue, Katelynde Orwig, Robert Iosue III, Taylor Headings, Alec McKee, Sophia Iosue, and Austin Willett. She has 4 great-grandchildren: Ana, Harmony, Caden, and Lillian.
Services will be private for the family; a public visitation will be held Friday, Nov 1st, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E Market St, York PA 17403. Flowers may be sent to Asbury United Methodist Church, that may be delivered to the church after 11:30 AM on Friday morning. In remembrance of Teena donations may be sent to York ARC at 497 Hill St. York, PA 17403.
