Christine Elizabeth Bodwell, 76, of White Lake, MI went to heaven on October 9, 2025. She was born in New London, NH on Feb. 21, 1949, to the late George E. Smith and Margaret M. Bannister (Smith) Norris. She lived in Concord, NH with her late husband, Walter Bodwell, for several years after graduating from Laconia State School in 1970. She also lived in Walled Lake, MI, Union Grove, WI and White Lake, MI. She was an energetic, enthusiastic, hard worker and received several awards for her accomplishments at Shepherds Home and School. She loved to laugh! She had many friends! She was compassionate, always ready to help anyone or any animal who was in need.
She loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting Alaska, Mexico and Canada. In Alaska, she flew an airplane and was thrilled when she caught a 70-pound king salmon. In Mexico she climbed the pyramids. In Canada, she often visited Niagara Falls. Christine was adventurous. She was rescued from a tourist boat that was sinking in Lake Michigan. She fell off a horse and rolled a snowmobile! But she never broke a bone, and she never went to the hospital because of illness. She loved music and was very gifted. But her greatest joy was knowing Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She loved to go to church and attend Bible studies where she could worship Him!
Christine is survived by sisters Jan and husband Dave Recktenwald of White Lake, MI; Robin and late husband Ted Forsi of Sedona, AZ; Kathryn and husband John Gioldassis of Sunapee, NH; Aunt Linda and husband Ken Jones of Effingham, NH; 5 nephews; 3 nieces; 5 great nephews; 6 great nieces; and many wonderful cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
A private service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, NH where she will be buried with her grandparents.
Services will be held in her beloved Community Bible Church, 1888 Crescent Lake Road, Waterford Township. MI 48327 on Saturday November 1, 2025 at 11 AM.
