Doris Katherene Bodwell, age 95, died May 26, 2025, following a long illness.
Born July 14, 1929, in Liberal Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Otto Bradford Cullins and Serediah Compton.
She graduated high school in Grand Junction Colorado in 1947. After this in her adult years she went to Real Estate school and was a Realtor and interior decorator. She often practiced her skills in real estate and business in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion and had many years of service in her faith.
She enjoyed painting, decorating, art, reading and researching ways to prolong her life. She was good at all of that and so much more.
Doris was friendly, kind, caring, loving, ambitious, and very bright, and best of all was a lot of fun to be around. Her smile, bright eyes, and laugh and wit could really light up a room and social occasion. Doris was preceded in death by: 1st husband Buster L Gilman and 2nd husband Harry S Bodwell, with no children of her own. She was a dedicated wife to these two husbands.
Doris was also an amazing supportive sister to two brothers and three sisters; Doug, Dorothy, Donita, Delilah and David (and to her in-law sisters and brothers) who she also outlived. Her love and care also extended to the sons and daughters of her second husband and to many nephews and nieces in her family and their children and next generations in the family trees. She was well loved and respected by all.
No formal Memorial Services are scheduled for June due to excessive schedule conflicts with family members, however, a Celebration of Life get-to-gather for family and close friends will be finalized later on for the month of July, 2025. For information email [email protected]
