Christine Carter, 81, of Paris Crossing, Indiana passed away on September 28, 2025, at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana with her family by her side. She was born on December 4, 1943, in Angola, Indiana, to the late William Mullins and Ethel (Peyton) Mullins. Christine spent her formative years in Paris Crossing, where she graduated from Paris Crossing High School in 1961. Christine served as a teacher's aide and secretary, where she profoundly impacted the lives of countless students. She was a devoted member of the First Marion Baptist Church for over 20 years, finding community and strength in her faith. Christine was not only passionate about her work but also cherished the simple joys of life. She loved to travel, enjoyed watching game shows, and most importantly, treasured spending time with her family. Christine's heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Lige Fletter; brother in law, Clyde Hensley; and sister in law, Debbie Mullins. Christine is survived by her husband, Larry Carter; daughter, Amy (Eric) Carter of Chicago, Illinois, son, Brent (Megan) Carter of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, two brothers, Peyton (Diane) Mullins of Columbus, Indiana and Donald Mullins of Paris Crossing, Indiana; one sister, Ann Hensley of Paris Crossing, Indiana; four grandchildren, Audrey Carter, Chloe Carter, Owen Carter, and Max Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Christine Carter will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00am with Pastor Greg Shuler officiating at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Saturday prior to the service starting at 10:00am at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Christine's name to First Marion Baptist Church in Commiskey, Indiana in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
