James Philip Walker, 83, of Scottsburg, Indiana beloved father, husband, brother, and grandpa, passed away on October 12, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Seton in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on August 27, 1942, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Omer Dawson Walker and Sarah Evelyn (Rund) Walker. James was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He spent the majority of his life building not only structures but also lasting memories with those he loved. Prior to establishing his own business, he spent 16 dedicated years at the old American Can. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Pop," a title that epitomized his gentle spirit and unwavering love. James is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth Bridgewater; and one brother, Ronnie Walker. He is survived by his wife, Carol Walker; two daughters, Laura (Vernon Back) Walker and Rhonda (Steve) Walker-Curd; two sisters, Nancy Walker-Baldwin and Sharon Middleton; seven grandchildren, Derrick (Kayla) Hall, Jake (Caitlin) Hall, Colten (Alyssa) Hall, Livia Walker-Back, Jules Walker-Back, Jim (Sarah) Curd, Melissa Laffon; four great grandchildren, Riley, Cameron, Tristen, and Quincy; and treasured nieces and nephews.
