On March 21, 2025 Christine Mary Cleveland passed away peacefully, in her home, with her family at her side. She was surrounded in love as Jesus brought her Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 11am-1pm (EST) at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm with Chaplain Pete Cerling officiating. There is a link below to live stream the service.

Christine Mary Cleveland was born on February 03, 1960 to Warner John McMillen and Mary McMillen Lovig. Christine was one of eight children. She grew up in Midlothian, Illinois and moved to Plymouth, Indiana in October of 1972. Chris graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1978.

On August 2, 1980, Chris married Chuck Cleveland. They met while working at G & G Grocery. Chuck asked her to join him on a double date for a game of mini golf. They were married for 44 beautiful years and together made a beautiful family. Their four kids are: Deanna Cleveland, Lisa (Paul) Martin, Emily (Don) Fishburn, and Tony (Kelsey) Cleveland. Their children collectively gave them eleven grandchildren: Kiara, Luke, Triniti, Kaedra, Braydon, Zagan, Max, Ryker, Rhett, Jade, and Matthew.

As for golf, she couldn’t understand why anyone would want to hit a little white ball and then go chase after it. It took her husband another 30 years to convince her to try the original game of golf. When she finally did, she loved it! But as with so many other things in life, she chose to make her own rules. Teeing up in the fairway was perfectly acceptable and irons were mostly worthless. Golf outings were always an adventure!

Chris was very family-oriented, and there was nothing more she enjoyed than spending time with her family. Every gathering was filled with fun, laughter, and love. Of all of the titles that Chris held, the title of YiaYia was her favorite. She loved her grandkids and was so proud of each and everyone of them. She always had time for them and was an active part in their lives. She rarely missed one of their events.

She was strong in her faith and trusted that God had a plan for her. She faced every challenge with courage, grace, and faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and nephew.

She was many things to many people and held many titles: Daughter, Wife, Mother, YiaYia, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was a beautiful woman who was strong, caring, and loving. She touched many lives and she will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She always looked for the positive in every situation. I think she would say this to her family and friends: “I am at peace. I am with my Dad. I always said that I was the Angel in the family…….and now I have my halo.”

Written with love by her daughter Deanna.
