Christine Rose Conroy (nee Skudlarczyk), born July 24, 1950 to Eleanore and Arthur Skudlarczyk. She peacefully passed into eternal life January 31st, 2025, age 74. Loving wife of 49 years to Robert Conroy. Devoted mother to Christine (Thomas) and Kathleen (Michael). Extremely proud Mimi to Sean and Eleanore.
Chris was born & raised in St. Francis, WI. She graduated from St. Francis High School where she was active in band and debate. She continued her education to become a radiologic technologist with certifications in nuclear medicine, medical technologist and mammography. She became a lifelong advocate for women's health.
Chris met Bob in 1974 when mutual friends set them up in their wedding party. When they met, they knew found the one with the right "twinkle in their eyes." They were married September 6, 1975. Bob says he felt he married up (WAY up!). Bob and Chris were blessed with Chris "Jr" about a year later. Kathy rounded out the family in 1982. Chris often said she was also blessed with two wonderful sons-in-law. Becoming a grandma was one of the greatest joys of her life.
Chris was a firm believer in the power of education. She was a tutor while her girls were in elementary school. She took an active role as PTA president. She took great pride that both her daughters received college educations and became strong, independent women.
Chris had a zest for life. Her motto was "Work hard, Play Hard." That translated into her going from painting the highest peaks on the family's Queen Anne style house to dressing up (most likely in something sparkly) to go out to dinner at Grenadier's. Working all day and surprising her girls by saying, "Get in the car- Huey Lewis and News is playing Summerfest tonight." Listening to dance music- Beyonce, J. Lo, Tina Turner- LOUDLY. She'd be the one saying, "that's a great song-turn it up!"
Travel was a passion for Chris. She thought it was a great way to learn. She liked to test us on our state capitol knowledge on road trips. Her favorite trips included Disney World, San Francisco, Mount Rushmore and an Alaskan cruise she and Bob took as a 25th wedding anniversary adventure.
Chris could (and did!) make friends everywhere. She would get together most months with the "high schools girls". She remained connected with many childhood friends and later in life was lucky to find many new friends. As she was an only child, she liked to call these all these women her "sisters".
Chris was loved by many, loved many in return and will be dearly missed.

I met Chris about 30 years ago when she attended a caregivers support group I hosted at St. Francis Hospital. We kept in touch and she and Bob had season´s tickets for the Rep where we connected occasionally. We also had been exchanging Christmas cards, which always included a message as well as a picture of Chris and Bob. I am so sorry to learn of her passing. I know her family was very important to her. She was a great woman and I know she will be missed. Treasure your memories. I know that I will.
