Christine Marie Coonrod, age 67, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 7:20 pm on Sunday January 19, 2025, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born on December 14, 1957, in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Yant) Gray.
Christine attended Churubusco High School and graduated with the Class of 1976. On October 4, 1986, she married Mark Coonrod at St. Louis Besancon in Allen County.
Christine worked as an Insurance Claims Specialist for Estlick-Girvin & Lefever Insurance for 20 years until her retirement in 2016.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, bird watching, and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Christine was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #1417, Columbia City.
Survivors include her husband Mark Coonrod of Columbia City; children Dani (John) Wagner and Andrea (Josh) Jewett, both of Fort Wayne; grandson Brody Jewett of Fort Wayne; stepmother Jean Gray of Portland, IN; sisters Gloria (Michael) Pressler of Churubusco, Billie (Rick) Brocht of Adrian, MI, and Bobbi (Mark) Vore of Redkey, IN; brother-in-law Jerry Zemlo of Adrian, MI.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Gray, stepfather Harold Koenig, mother Elizabeth Koenig, siblings Timothy Gray, Lee Gray, Brad Cremeans, Brent Cremeans, and Barb Zemlo.
Friends may call on Thursday January 23, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Memorial contributions in memory of Christine may be made to A Mothers Hope or Mission 25
