Christine Lynn McDowell

Christine Lynn McDowell, 52, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the devoted wife of Rick McDowell, beloved mother of Casey (Brandon) Welch and Jeremy Holder, and proud grandmother to Stacia Holder. Christine was the daughter of Rachel Meeks and the late Frederick H. Meeks, and is also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Meeks. She is survived by her siblings Fred Meeks, Sherry Meeks-Feguer, William Hyde, and sister-in-law Cheryl (Maxwell) Deh. She was a devoted and loving aunt to many, including Dalton Meeks and Lilah Barnhart, and shared a special bond with all her nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Lansing, Christine earned an associate's degree in Business and Administration from Davenport University. She was self-employed in IT, working alongside her husband as a dedicated team. Christine was strong-willed, fiercely loving, and the rock of her family - always putting others before herself.
She loved classic rock, gardening, cheering on the Detroit Lions, and watching hummingbirds feed from her bird feeder. One of her greatest joys was Halloween - she looked forward to it every year and delighted in decorating her home and celebrating it with the ones she loved.
Christine's strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family leave a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Oak Plain Cemetery, Shaftsburg. Viewing will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Perry Chapel for one hour on Tuesday from 12:30-1:30pm prior to the graveside service. www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com
