Christine "Chris" Muir

Christine Muir, age 96, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025. She was born on September 4, 1928 to Ervin Stiles and Edna Deaver.

Christine "Chris" Stiles was born at home in Ducktown, Tennessee, and was the 3rd of 7 Children. She married Ray Odum of Murphy, North Carolina, and had a daughter, Linda. Chris moved to Miami where she raised Linda, and later married Marshall Muir. They met while working for Miami Lincoln Mercury. In her younger years, Chris was a "Meter Maid" who rode a motorcycle and wrote tickets. She also had her own Harley motorcycle. She loved to fish in the Keys, where she and Marshall owned a second home on the water.

Chris always had five living generations since the birth of her granddaughter, Rhonda Schlageter McCraw, on December 9, 1966. She is survived by her daughter Linda Schlageter, Grandchildren Rhonda McCraw and Husband David, Robert Scott Schlageter and wife Rebecca, Joel Schlageter. Great Grandchildren: John Schlageter, Jacquelin Schlageter, Michella McCraw Diaz and husband Humberto, Monica McCraw Collins and husband Isaac, Marshall McCraw, Alex Schlageter, Great- Great Grandchildren: Jayce Schlageter, Ezra Collins and Gabriela Diaz. Her Siblings: Hoyt Stiles of Cleveland, TN, Betty Collins of Turtletown, TN, and Louise Womble of Atlanta, GA.

Chris was preceded in death by her Husband Marshal Muir; Brothers, Harry Stiles and Harold Stiles, Sister, Carolyn Hughes and her Parents; Edna Deaver Stiles and JE Stiles.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Turtletown, TN. The family will receive guests one hour before the Celebration of Life.
