Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Dec. 13, 2025.
The best Mom, Mimi, Wife, Sister, Aunt, and Friend went to her eternal resting place with The Lord on December 9th, 2025, at the age of 65.
Christine Elizabeth Nance was born on May 4th, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio to Patricia Hughes. She went to Westerville North High School where, through friends, she met the love of her life, Rusty.
Chris and Rusty were married on July 7, 1978, and they have been inseparable since. They moved into their forever home in Galena where they had four children, seven grandchildren, and built a legacy within the Big Walnut community.
Family was everything to Chris. Her kids and grandkids were her entire life. She and Rusty never missed any sporting or school event. No matter what, if you looked up into the stands, Chris was there and was always their number one fan.
Chris was extremely passionate about Sunbury and the Big Walnut community. From working in the school cafeteria, to working for Big Walnut Athletics, then working at Kroger, she greeted every person with a smile and frequently held up the self checkout lines with all of her conversation. Chris knew no stranger and made friends wherever she went.
Her biggest joy was her family and the community. She was a faithful, Godly woman, who was always there when needed, and never judged anyone. Chris was a proud member of Northgate Church for over 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Hughes, and her in-laws, Harold and Zelpha Nance, who had a huge impact on her life.
She leaves behind a loving husband of 47 years who was also her best friend, travel buddy, and teammate, Rusty, loving brother, John (Marybeth), four children, Nathan (Lianne), Blair (Lori), Tayler (Michael), Samual (Bayley), seven grandchildren, Kennedy, Taryn, Payton, Sutton, Isla, Brooks, and Ivy, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chris will be extremely missed by her family, friends, and the whole community. To know her, was to love her. She gave the world so much love, and as she would say herself, she was "truly blessed".
