Christine Owsiany

Christine Ellen (Giles) Owsiany, 66, of Watervliet, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, in her home surrounded by family and friends.
Christine was born on February 19, 1959, in Fort Wayne, IN, the ninth of twelve children to the late James and Mary Alice (Wyatt) Giles.
Christine found happiness and comfort in her significant other Lloyd, her children, her siblings and friends. She enjoyed good books, crafting, drawing, making wine and painting. Christine was amazingly talented in all things creative. Whether she was sewing costumes, painting murals at the local elementary school, or hand designing greeting cards; her talents were apparent. She enjoyed nights with a bonfire, visits from her children, and music festivals. She developed a love for animals and plants while raising her children on their family farm. You could find her routinely at peace tending to her gardens and plants or playing cards.
Surviving are her loving significant other – Lloyd Styburski; four children - Gared, Kimm (Jim), Meghan (Rick) and Angela; twelve grandchildren - Alec, Mallory, Ava, Caleb, Chase, Trey, George, Cole, Melina, Faith, Finley and Charlotte; siblings and plentiful nieces and nephews.
Christine's family, friends and coworkers are invited to a Memorial Gathering from 3pm-5pm on Friday April 11, 2025, at Clark Chapel - Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. Immediately following, all are invited to Moose Lodge 933, 54867 M-51 N, Dowagiac for food, drinks, memories and celebrations. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for a plant or likewise that can later be added in Christine's memory to her and Lloyd's happy place around their gazebo and patio.
