Christine Allen Roberson

Christine Allen (Preston) Roberson, departed from this life to join her heavenly Father at the age of 73 on November 5, 2024, in Oklahoma City, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2024 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Provence Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla.
She was born on August 15, 1951, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Ira and Eunice Preston of Ardmore. Christine attended and graduated from Dickson High School in 1969. Following her graduation, Christine dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker. Subsequently she chose to pursue a career in education, initially working in the cafeteria at Dickson Schools, and later becoming the Dickson High School cheerleading coach. After her tenure at the school, she worked with juveniles for several years until declining health prompted her to transition her to a role at D&S Pit Stop alongside her brother, Carrol, where they got to spend many years together making D&S pit stop a store you always wanted to stop at. Everyone always said Christine and Carrol were like glue, they always stuck by each other's side. In 2014, she reluctantly had to retire after exhibiting remarkable decline of her health. Throughout her life she cherished the time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren. Christine was an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities. Christine frequently took long walks and collected rocks with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nora Bailey; her parents, Ira and Eunice Preston; her sister, Geraldine Coffey; her great-nephew, Rusty Delzeit; and her bonus son, Shane Williams.
Christine is survived by three children: Christie and Michael Eddy of Wolcottive, Indiana; Chanda Roberson of Ardmore, Okla. and Casey Roberson, and wife, Tassie Roberson of Ardmore, Okla. One brother, Carrol Preston and wife, Debbie, of Ardmore, Okla. She is also fondly remembered by her bonus daughter, Alishia McInturff, of Ardmore, Okla. As a devoted grandmother, Christine held a special place in her heart for her nine grandchildren: Christopher, Courtney, Aaliyah, Asher, Ayden, Tyson, Dacoleton, Keaton, and Riverlynd, in addition to her eight great-grandchildren: Emily, Elizabeth, Jaiden, Jaiven, Bodie, Hayden, Zaylee, and Nora, she also has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Casey Roberson, Tyson Roberson, Dacoleton Roberson, Jerren Preston, Brian Preston, and Jason Willmond. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Eddy, Christopher Roberson, Gus Preston, Asher Roberson, Keaton Roberson, Michael Coffey, Randy Coffey, Corrol Preston and Stephen McCord.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
