Christopher Jason Allex of Lee County passed away Wednesday morning in Alabaster, Alabama due to complications from heart surgery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Barcus and Pastor Mat Tomlinson will officiate. 

Jason grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School 2000. He worked in the insurance business as an adjuster and as a sales rep. He held an insurance sales license in several surrounding states. He was also an avid sports fan. He bled black and red for his Georgia Bulldogs. Jason and his brother TJ tried to attend as many local high school football games as they were able to. The one thing he was most proud of was his three girls. He loved them with a passion.

Jason was preceded in death by his brother TJ Pate and his stepfather Tony Pate.

Jason is survived by his daughters Alyssa, Ansley and Sara Jane of Lee County. His fiancé Lesley Nighman of Sylacauga, Alabama and her children Lanie, Lucas, Austin and granddaughter Raelyn.

Parents John and Terri Gatlin of Sasser, brothers Taylor (Tiffany) Gatlin of Ellijay Ga, Lawson (Jessica) Gatlin of Lee County. Sister Morgan (Taylor) Hart of Desoto, sister, Heather Allex of California. Grandfather Ed Rhodes of Tifton, grandmother Martha Rhodes of Albany, great grandmother Jeannette Cleveland of Blakley and uncle Paul (Marsheila) Rhodes of Fruitland Park, Florida, step-mother, Amy Allex of California. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
