With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher S. Byrnes, who left this world on January 28, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, cherished friend, accomplished artist, and consummate gentleman, Chris's presence brought warmth, laughter and an unmistakable charm to all who knew him.
Chris was, above all else, a true Southern gentleman-kind, generous, and effortlessly engaging. He had a rare gift for making others feel like the most important person in the room. He believed that everyone he met deserved respect, and he carried himself with the same dignity and grace that he extended to others. Whether through thoughtful words, quick wit, or an engaged conversation with his unmistakable southern drawl, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
At the heart of Chris's world was his beloved wife, Bridget Delaney Byrnes. She was the love of his life, his greatest adventure, and his unwavering partner. Together, they traveled the globe, embracing life's beauty in every corner-from the vibrant streets of Miami to the sophistication of London; searching the streets of Italy for Krispy Kreme doughnuts, or taking in the breathtaking landscapes of Big Sur. Their journey together was filled with love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever.
Chris lived an extraordinarily full life, rich with adventure and stories that could captivate a room. Whether recounting a moment from his college days as a Sigma Phi, an unforgettable experience from his time in the Navy, or an unexpected twist of fate in everyday life, he had a way of turning the ordinary into something remarkable.
A proud graduate of Woodward Academy and Auburn University, Chris built a successful career and was a respected member of the Georgia Contractors Association. His passion for craftsmanship, excellence, and attention to detail carried through in every aspect of his life. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a talented and accomplished artist, expressing his creativity through various mediums that left an indelible mark on those who were lucky enough to receive one of his beautiful drawings or a flawlessly made pens.
He was a devoted father to Delaney and Meagan and an adoring grandfather to Jaxon, Elwood, Benjamin, Jack, and Katherine, who lovingly called him "Ga." His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment with them.
Chris carried himself with confidence and grace. He had impeccable style, always polished and effortlessly put together-a reflection of his deep appreciation for life's finer details. Whether it was a well-made pair of shoes, a flawless handmade pen, or the impeccable engineering of a racecar, he valued intricacies that made this world so special.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Bridget; his daughters Delaney Clement (Ben Clement) and Meagan Shaw; his grandchildren Jaxon Foust, Elwood Shaw, Benjamin Clement, Jack Clement, and Katherine Clement; his sister, Genevieve, Adkison (Richard); and his niece, Andrea Reed (Josh and Harper);Hayley Fallin and her mom Sarah. As well as countless friends and colleagues who will forever hold him in their hearts. Chris is preceded by Bobby & Bill Fallin, John Byrnes, Jack & Jill Damberg and Heidi Damberg.
