Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Mission Hills Chapel - FranklinChristopher “Chris” Michael Herbert Klinge, age 40, passed away suddenly in Franklin, WI on June 2, 2025.
Born in Madison, WI, Chris spent his early years growing up on a cul-de-sac surrounded by close friends, playing soccer and participating in Boy Scouts. He spent summers taking road trips with his family through the United States and Canada. He attended James Madison Memorial High School in Madison, WI and traveled to Beijing, China with his Chinese class.
Chris went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned a degree in marketing and spent a memorable semester abroad in London, England. Throughout his career, he held various marketing and administrative roles in Madison and Milwaukee, WI, where he left a lasting impression on his coworkers.
Chris had a deep love for travel, hiking, and exploring new places—especially restaurants and breweries around Milwaukee. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loving his wife deeply, and being active playing volleyball and games. A lifelong fan of Jeopardy!, he was often the go-to “call a friend” for trivia, thanks to his quick wit, intelligence, and thoughtful nature. Chris was funny, kind, and fiercely competitive—always the planner and always there when you needed him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Bobel Klinge; his parents, Ronald and Cindy Klinge; his brother, Jason and wife, Amanda Klinge; his sister, Brandi Klinge Filsinger; his uncles Bryan Klinge, William Klinge, Randy (Linda) Grosse, Patrick (Janice) Grosse and cousins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Beth Bobel; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steven and Lindsay Bobel. Chris was a proud uncle to Zach, Briana, and Aleea Filsinger; Adeline and Nolan Klinge; and James and Zella Bobel. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael and Sharon Grosse and Herbert and Marjorie Klinge.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 10 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Third Space Brewing in Milwaukee, WI.
