Christopher Joseph Curran, "Chris", 64, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Friday at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kimberly A. (Katin) Curran.
Chris was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and was the son of the late David J. and Marguerite C. (Feeney) Curran.
Chris grew up in Pelham, New Hampshire, where his father was a police officer. During his childhood Chris often hung out at the police station. Once when his father was acting as dispatcher there was a disturbance at the police station. Being the only other person there at the time, Chris took it upon himself to radio for help from the officers out on patrol. Chris also took pride in using the police chief's car when he went for his driver's license.
During his childhood, Chris learned how to play the organ. He appeared on Community Auditions, a local talent competition show airing on a Boston television station. Chris also played the church organs at both St. Patrick's Church and St. Margaret's Church in Pelham.
Chris enjoyed spending time in Maine, including visits to the Nubble Lighthouse in York, trips to Florida, and vacationing in the White Mountains. He was the family electrician and technology support guy. Chris enjoyed going out to eat at Texas Roadhouse and Chick-fil-A with his family. Chris also enjoyed watching TV. You could often find him watching various home improvement shows on HGTV or rooting for the Boston sports teams.
In addition to his loving wife, Chris leaves behind his children, John D. Curran "JD" and Janessa L. Curran, and his sister, Marguerite F. Genewicz. He was predeceased by his brother, David J. Curran, Jr.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately in the Spring.
