Hauserman, Christopher Daniel - Age 76, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday May 23, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, Christopher was raised in Runnemede NJ. He was a student at Triton Regional High School until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 during the Vietnam War. During his time in the military, he was apart of corrosion control and was a machinist until his time of honorable discharge in 1975.
It was at the end of his time in the Air Force, while stationed in England at RAF Upper Hayford, that he met his loving wife of 47 years, Angela Cox, while on a blind date at The Red Lion Pub on July 31, 1975.
Upon the completion of his time with the Air Force, he moved back to Runnemde with Angela coming soon after. He then started his career spanning 26 years with the US Postal Service in Philadelphia, following in his father's footsteps and even at one time having the same route and working with the same carriers as his father. Christopher aka Danny aka Spike aka Redneck also had a love of music - mastering the clarinet, saxophone, and banjo. In 1963 he joined the Mummers and walked in his first New Year's Parade in 1964. He was in several stringbands during his 61 years with the Mummers including Runnemede Fire Company Stringband, Trilby, Garden State, Gloucester City, Broomall, Jersey Stringband, and finally Sterling Stringband up until 2024.
Christopher had several hobbies including reading, astronomy, photography, computers and gaming - in fact after he retired from the USPS, he got a part-time job at Office Max. His employers told him he was such a good salesman he could sell ice to an eskimo. He had a love for the outdoors in which he spent most of his time with his family camping. In his retirement years, Christopher and Angela brought a campervan for traveling. Christopher leaves behind his loving wife Angela (Cox), son James (Christine), daughter Katrina, daughter Gretchen (Joe), as well as 10 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father Christian, mother Bette, and brother Christian.
Servies will be held on June the 4th at Gardner Funeral Home 126 S Black Horse Runnemede. Visitation will be held from 10-12 with a memorial service at 12.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Christopher to the Philadelphia VA Medical Center or the American Association for Cancer Research.
