Christopher Jarvis, 71, of Malone died, Monday, June 23, 2025 at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.
Born on December 20, 1953 in Chateaugay, NY he was the son of Maurice C. and Gertrude (Forette) Jarvis.
Christopher has been a cherished part of our Citizen Advocates community for many years. He first joined us at the Constable B ICF, where he lived for several years before moving to Spencer Hill IRA-a smaller, more intimate home developed by Citizen Advocates. His family welcomed the transition, and Christopher quickly made Spencer Hill his own, sharing the space with five other individuals. He seemed to enjoy his days there, especially the outings around the Malone area. Christopher loved the outdoors, horses and watching all the activities going on around him. He especially liked the story books and gifts his family brought to him when they visited.
Those who knew Christopher will remember his favorite word - "No!"-which he used often and with great personality. It was a privilege to be with his family during these final moments, a time filled with warmth, reflection, and love. Christopher will be missed by many a staff and peer. He was a gentle soul for sure.
He is survived by his siblings, John Jarvis, Veronica Miller and Margareta Spinner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Raymond, Anthony, Joseph, Francis, Thomas, Norman, William, Maurice Jr., Grace, Loretta and Marcella.
Calling hours will be held at Notre Dame Church, Malone on Saturday, June 28, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10 a.m.
Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chateaugay.
