Jeannette M. Champagne, 98, of Malone, NY, died on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Highland Nursing Home in Massena, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 20, 1926 in Malone, she was the daughter of Joseph and Pearl (D'aoust) Latour.
She was married to Robert E. Champagne on July 14, 1947 at Notre Dame Church. He predeceased her in 2005.
Jeannette sold Tupperware for many years. She was the last charter member of the Amvets and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Alice Hyde Hospital Auxiliary. She was a communicant of St. Andre Bessette Parish and member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Throughout her life Jeannette enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, bowling, cooking, puzzles and golfing. She had a great love of vibrant hats and an even greater love for spending time with her many friends and family.
She is survived by four children, Stephen Champagne and his wife, Patricia of Griffin, GA, Thomas Champagne of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Champagne and his wife, Louise of Ocala, FL, Rosemary Perry of Malone; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; a son, Gregory Champagne; grandson, Andrew Champagne; great-granddaughter, Kierstyn Kader; son-in-law, Carl Perry; siblings, Eugene Latour, Annette Bissonnette and Eva Latour.
Calling hours will be held at Notre Dame Church on Saturday, July 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. A Mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Donations in Jeannette's memory may be made to the Farrar Home Activity Department.
