Mrs. Patricia Phillips Duffy

Patricia Phillips Duffy, 74, of Malone, New York, passed away on August 10, 2025, at the Alice Center. Born on September 2, 1950, in Rochester, New York to Margaret Gilligan Phillips and Manderson Phillips, she graduated from Franklin Academy High School and SUNY Potsdam before beginning over a three-decade career as an elementary school teacher in St. Regis Falls. Patricia deeply loved her profession, finding immense joy in nurturing young minds and making a profound, lasting impact on the lives of countless children through her dedication, creativity, and compassion in the classroom. Patricia enjoyed artwork and often spent relaxing time painting, drawing inspiration from the world around her. She particularly loved the vibrant fall colors of the North Country. Patricia is survived by her husband, Gerald Duffy; her sons, Jared Duffy of Colonie, New York, Michael Duffy and his fiancée Lauren Swanson of Boca Raton, Florida, and Trevor Duffy and his wife Elizabeth Duffy of Getzville, New York; and her grandchildren, Taylor and Walter. She also leaves behind her brother Richard Phillips of Lakeland, Florida, her sister Mary Ellen Kelley of Richmond, Virginia, and her sister Amanda Phillips-Riley of Mountain View, New York. She was predeceased by her brother Wallace Phillips. A memorial service will be held at a future date yet to be determined at St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
