Christopher “Chris” James Jensen passed away on November 10, 2022 at the age of 35. While his cause of death is still unknown, Chris struggled with deep depression and anxiety for many years, struggling to find the right treatment. He was born in January 1987 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah and was currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As the youngest and only boy in his family, Chris learned how to be protective and loving from a young age. He loved animals and developed a love of sports from his dad.

After high school he started working in the airline industry which led him to some of the best years of his life. So many lifelong friendships were forged and unforgettable experiences made as he eventually worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines from 2012-2019. Some of those experiences included visiting India several times and stopping to buy pizza for boys at a local orphanage or hiring a motorized rickshaw to tour the city of Delhi and paying the driver ten times what he charged him and secretly leaving a 50 lb sack of rice in his rickshaw.

Chris lived in New York City for over 8 years and loved being a New Yorker. He invited his sisters to show them the city he loved and it was one of the best memories we share with him. He also lost countless iPhones there. IYKYK

Chris loved his teams the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Utah Utes, even though he grew up a BYU fan. He loved his people which included family in Chile as well as here in Utah. His friends also became family. He was fiercely protective of all of them and made an impact on everyone he met. No one will forget his humor, those incredible one liners, his contagious belly laugh that started as a giggle, but soon got out of control as tears streamed down his face. His pop culture knowledge was unmatched as he met several celebrities over the years and binged on the RHOA, The Hills, Laguna Beach, and the Kardashians. Probably while enjoying his favorite meal, a steak quesadilla from Taco Bell or Cafe Rio.

His love for his dog Stella was undeniable, even when thousands of miles separated them. He loved her with all his heart and her passing really took a toll on him. He is survived by his parents, James and Gloria Jensen, sister Jennifer, brother in law, Jeff and nephews and niece, Stockton, Breken, Jackson, and Kendyl, and sister Dre.

Chris had a heart of gold and was currently working for the VOA in Salt Lake City as a recovery specialist. He loved his job and it gave him purpose to get out of bed in the morning and make a difference.

We all love you, Chris and you will be profoundly missed. We wish we could wrap our arms around you and tell you that you fought a good fight. You can now rest in peace and know you mattered.

A viewing will be held at the Russon Mortuary 1585 W. 300 S. Syracuse, UT 84075 on Saturday, November 19th from 12:45-1:45pm. Immediately following a graveside service will be held at the Clinton City cemetery, 813 N 750 W, Clinton, UT 84015 at 2 pm.

The family is extremely grateful and overwhelmed by all who donated to make sure he got a proper burial and would love to express our eternal gratitude.

I'm soo sad to have to live each day without you !I will miss your laugh, your constant teasing but mostly I will miss our heart to hearts! You made me feel important to you even if you were busy, you took the time to listen, reassure me and tell me you cared and would always be there! You tested me sometimes and most definitely called me on any of my BS and then gently reminded me that the only reason you did is BECAUSE you cared and wanted the best for me!I loved you CJ and as your obituary so eloquently describes you its all true,I am a better person by having met you and having you in my life!I am grateful for our talk Wednesday, I wish I had insisted you still come see my new place and hang out with Erica and I and eat your favorite Grilled Steak Quesadilla's( BTW I'd only eat at Taco Bell for you)!!Thank you for saying the things you did that night, for making sure I knew where we stood and how you felt because you weren't someone who ever really showed that to others so it meant the world to and now soo much more! I WISH that you didn't have to leave us but in your voice I can hear you saying "Now I REALLY can see everything, hear everything, and I'll know because I'm watching!"I'm glad to have you watching out for all those you loved and believe it like I tried to tell you all the time "People love you and you matter!!! I sure know you mattered to me,and thanks for sharing all the pictures you had just found of Stella with me it helps a little to know you are playing and hugging and enjoying your time with her again !!I will miss you terribly but you'll always be in my heart and I just want to let his family know how much he loved you all and wanted to make you proud, especially his dad!!He talked of you often to me and his eyes always took on a special softer glow! You sure had an amazing son, brother, uncle and please know he helped and loved and was there for soo many of his friends always ! Thank you for sharing him with all of us!!
