Christopher Raymond Kell passed away, together with his faithful dog Lady Bug, on October 13, 2024, the result of an accidental fire at his residence. Chris is survived by his father Raymond, now 99 years old, nine siblings, one daughter and two grandchildren, plus numerous other extended family members.
Chris was born on February 13, 1950 and grew up in Madison Heights, Michigan. He attended St. Dennis grade school in Royal Oak and Lamphere High School in Madison Heights. He joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and served with the 101 st Airborne Division in the U.S.A., Vietnam, and Germany. After serving his country, Chris worked in various automotive parts shops, but found more satisfaction in traveling and being outdoors. He spent years working in the apple orchards in Chelan, Washington and did handyman work in Santa Barbara, but eventually settled in Seaside, Oregon, where he was recently described as “local color.”
Following a cremation, the combined ashes of Chris and his constant companion Lady Bug will be scattered in Seaside, at a time and place to be coordinated with his fellow veterans and caring neighbors.
