In Loving Memory of Christopher Shane Melton
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Christopher Shane Melton, who left this world on October 14, 2025, at the age of 28. Chris was born on May 20, 1997, and during his time here, he brought light, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him.
Chris was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He was deeply loved by his two beautiful children, Analeia and Ryder Melton, who were the center of his world. He shared a special bond with their mother, Raeleigh Sult, and together they created a family full of love and memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his loving mother, Angel Mills, and her husband Steven Mills, as well as his father, Kevin Vanduyn, and his wife Dana. He also leaves behind his sister, Breanna Johnson, her husband Dustin, and their three children Josiah, Azriel, and Hezekiah who adored their Uncle Chris.
Chris had a big heart and an unforgettable sense of humor. He loved fishing, the ocean, and spending time surrounded by nature places where he found peace and joy. One of his favorite things was hearing his mom call him "Sonith, the Shinith of Minith," a nickname that always made him smile and reminded him of the special bond they shared.
He is reunited in heaven with his loyal dog Nene, his beloved Grandma Anna Josephine, and Papaw Raymond, who welcomed him with open arms.
Though his time with us was far too short, Chris's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. His laughter, his kindness, and his love will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember the incredible person Chris was.
