Christopher Peters, 43, of
Liberty, MO, passed away on Sunday, August 4th, 2024, at Liberty Hospital surrounded by family after his battle with lung cancer.
Chris was born on May 26th, 1981 in Lincoln, NE. He had an incredible passion for life, which he expressed through his love for travel and adventure. He journeyed to many corners of the world, including Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Mexico, and Haiti. His travels were not just about seeing new places but also about connecting with people and cultures.
Chris enjoyed a variety of activities that brought him joy and allowed him to share his vibrant spirit with others. He cherished the time spent with friends and family, loved riding motorcycles, attending sporting events, social events, golfing, frisbee golfing, and playing video games. Additionally, he owned a bar and grill in Cambodia, which was a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and love for bringing people together.
Known for his positive and caring nature, Chris never met a stranger he didn't like. He always made those around him feel welcome and valued. His legacy is one of courage, love, and joy, and his memory will forever guide us to face our fears, cherish our friendships, and explore the wonders of the world.
Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents Hans and Mary Andersen, and Francis Peters; his aunt and uncle Kristine and Richard Thompson; his cousin Brian Andersen; and Joyce Sanders.
Chris is survived by his fiancée, Sothea, and her daughter, Mila; his grandmother, Joy Peters; his parents, Patrick and Katherine Peters; his siblings, Patricia Andersen, and Michael and Darla Peters; and his nieces and nephews, Joey and Aaron Andersen, and Weston, Aria, Rogan, and Caiden Peters. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and their families, including Michael Sorgenfrei and Theresa Peters, Chuck and Kathy Story, Steve and DeeDee Reichwaldt, Tom and Kiyoko Peters, Shawn Peters, Larry and Ruthie Robertson, Randy and Amy LaTelle, Mary Ann Andersen, Margaret Carver, and Katie Thompson.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 8th, 2024, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Liberty, located at 1015 Hwy H,
Liberty, MO 64068.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church, located at 309 S Stewart Rd,
Liberty, MO 64068, followed by a graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery, Old Rugged Cross Garden, located at 5001 NE Cookingham Dr, Kansas City, MO 64156. St. James Catholic Church will host a luncheon in the lower level immediately following the burial service. All are encouraged to attend.
