Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home - Middletown on Feb. 17, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Christopher Anthony Sulo, age 37, who passed away on Sunday, February 9th, 2025.
Christopher was a beloved son, brother, daddy, nephew and cherished friend to many. He was one of a kind and he had a laugh that we will treasure forever and a sense of humor that was uniquely him.
Chris spent many years as a carpenter building more than a few of the major buildings in this area until recently when he decided to follow his childhood passion and go to Barber School. He proudly graduated from the Hair Academy School of Barbering & Beauty in Newark, DE on February 6, 2025. A goal he was incredibly proud and full of joy to have achieved. Chris was a big man who always left a big impression on everyone he met. A gifted craftsman who could be found creating custom kitchen islands or leather goods, his passion for creating custom pieces was endless. A man who felt at home in the woods camping or on a river in a canoe with his best friend, Chris could never be maintained in the concrete world and was a true lover of nature.
Chris was an eclectic man who had many interests from collecting comic books to knives and cutlery and was someone who didn't mind exploring something new and whether anyone like it or not. He was courageous. Not just in his interests but how he interacted with the world daily.
He was wise and intelligent. Not in the way you think someone would be, which he also was, but in a way that made you love him even more. A wisdom from someone who experienced much in life and would never waste an opportunity to impart or do something that could maybe make someone's life a little easier.
Chris loved to serve and help people in his own way. He saw and took much value in that. A man WHO LOVED TO LAUGH and had such a wide range of humor, even though you may not have wanted to, it would make you love him immediately. Witty, unique and real was his style. The man was a lover and a fighter. Someone who you would always prefer to have on your team than against you in any matter of real or mental combat. Resilient. Chris' ability to fight back, stand up and push forward is something that most men could hope to attain.
Chris was a warrior who had a warrior spirit. A leader of men which was something he truly treasured. Complex, simple, contagious are all words that can describe him. That is just who "the big cat" was.
Above all, the man was someone who deeply loved his family, his friends and the variety of life. Whether he was working hard, watching one of his many favorite shows or movies or exploring another interest, he would be there for family and friends in an instant. His capacity for love was as large as his spirit.
Christopher was a great man.
Christopher leaves behind many loved ones, His parents Lori Tackett (Sulo) Betts and husband Gregory W. Betts, Sr., brother Nicholas G. Sulo, bonus brother Wesley N. Betts, cherished daughter Chloe Madison Sulo, aunts and uncles Deanna "Aunt Nanny" Tacket Horst and Clifford Horst, Renee "Aunt Neya" Sulo Burkey and Vince Burkey, Melissa "Aunt Bubby" Sulo Gisoni and Greg Gisoni. His cousins Chelsea Parmer (Jackson), Ivy Parmer, Jeremy Parmer, Nicole Burkey, Maddie Ziegler and Mackenzie Ziegler, bonus grandparents Tom and Carolyn Williams, bonus extended family, William W. Betts, Jr., (Esther), His best friend in life, that became his brother Shawn Patrick, his loving co-parent and treasured friend Tashema (Sulo) Poole and close family friends and honorary family Robert and Rebekah (Burkel) Taylor. In addition to many other family and friends that loved him, and he loved too.
Christopher was preceded in death by his sweet cousin Brittany S. (Parmer) Merklinger, grandparents, Papaw and Grandma, Harold and Brenda (Caudill) Tackett and Pop-Pop and Bopcha, Gerard and Frances (Jakubowski) Sulo.
